Feeling Poisoned?
Thinking of a Detox?

Liver support and Detoxification
Who's not done a detox when they're feeling poisoned?
The idea of detox is very popular and never more so than in January when everyone wants to detox from the excess of Christmas indulgence. The dictionary definition of detox is: “a process or period of time in which one abstains from or rids the body of toxic or unhealthy substances; detoxification”

If you feel you need to detox then I am very happy to discuss this with you. The internet is littered with detoxes /fasts/cleanses all promoting to make you feel amazing but some of these can in fact be dangerous.
In our modern society we are subjected to a barrage of toxins every day from food, water, air, but also from exposure with household chemicals, beauty products, pesticides and plastics. This puts excessive pressure on the body’s detoxification ability and can result in illness. The body needs specific nutrients to detoxify properly and by going on a water/juice fast you can in fact actually put the liver under more pressure to work harder, thus not achieving anything.
Ensuring the detoxification and elimination processes are working well are key and it is something I address with all patients I see.

"I saw Rosie as I’d been feeling increasingly unwell. I had awful headaches, I woke up and felt foggy headed and my digestive system was all over the place and I was reacting to everything suddenly. I seemed to be getting rashes and reactions to products that I’d been using for years and seemed to have developed hay fever for the first time.
I had a very busy job in the city, which demanded a lot and also a hectic social life. In hindsight I was living on caffeine during the day, snatching food when I could and drinking way too much at night. Finally my body had enough and I got sick.
I saw Rosie after I’d seen a range of other practitioners and I really liked her no nonsense approach. She cut through the rubbish and told me what she wanted me to do but also how she was going to help in supporting me to change. She also gave me some excellent food for thought with regards to lifestyle. I had fallen into the trap of living off caffeine and sugar as I was bone tired and despite that being a relatively easy concept, it is often hard to look at yourself objectively when you are stuck on the hamster wheel.
3 months later and I feel great. I have changed my lifestyle and my diet and despite thinking this would be really hard, what was actually a lot harder was dragging myself through the day feeling awful. I have a new lease of life and I am so grateful to Rosie."
